These are three abstract images that I created using image editing software and illustrator. These are what I would describe as blind 7 point graphics. I struggle to think of ideas to make designs and I look at things online and get inspired, but then I just fell like I'm copying a design or I'm creating something very similar and I feel disappointed that I didn't create something original. So I blindly marked 7 dots on a piece of A4 paper and then chose 2 points at the edges of the paper and then connected these points with straight lines to form triangular shapes. I used the tracing tool in illustrator to tidy up my hand drawn designs and then transferred that into image editing software. Using the magic wand tool I cut out the white space to make the image transparent. On a new layer I created a black/gray gradient and added drop shadow on the design. I changed the colour of the design to white to have contrast with the shadow. It's designed to look like there is a light source from below this gives it a 3D impression, which worked well. I did want to create some other graphics, but found I disliked all my designs and and was disinterested trying to force myself to think of ideas. These pieces I feel reflect my identity because there is a sense of order and structure, which I find reassuring. I found have found when designing I work much more effectively hand drawing designs and scanning them onto a computer. Though this may be a obsolete and inefficient method I like the personal touch it adds and I feel that doing work this way you really see the design and think about your process.
