Prior to doing this foundation course I did a course, which essentially was a university module and I earned some UCAS points towards this course. This was my final set of work. Its actually made up of 10 images 9 portrait and one landscape in reflection I was not sure why I did one landscape so for the sake of continuity I have not included it. Its centred around my home town and the urban degeneration that is very apparent in the city. I added graphics of animals where I double exposed images of plants and trees inside the animals. This is to reflect the way the rural land is being swallowed by the urban environment. It is also reflective of the way the animals habitats are being destroyed by construction and how now these animals have to adapt to a new environment. I did not take these unedited photographs with the animal graphics in mind. I really like straight patterns and symmetry, this style of working happened to compliment to final outcome nicely as the graphics could be framed and composed into the photography seamlessly. To add to the urban feel of this work I added a murky blue layer to make the work seem cold - it is also desaturated for the same effect. I used my knowledge of photography and some skills I picked up as a website designer to create the graphics for this work.
