These are a few animations I created using simple web transitions. These are pretty basic transitions as website design goes as I am not manipulating very many elements to animate the images. The movement effect of movement is made by the CSS transition property, where I can set how long a transition will take to complete. All the examples on this page use the hover pseudo-class. These are typically used to add style links, but in this case I manipulated this property to create some animations. I could have created very complicated animations by making multiple divs with images inside and manipulating them all at the same time when the container div is hovered over. I wanted to enjoy making this work so I chose I create some simple pieces that wouldn't want to make me destroy my laptop creating. The top two images of the seagull and fish were made my altering the background position property when hovered. left 100% and then right 100% when hovered with a transition. This creates the illusion that the image is moving, but actually its the background-image property that is moving. These works were made randomly and weren't greatly planned, but somehow a nortical theme has developed. I do like fish and have kept fish most of my adult life and I really like seagulls as you can see from my photography work. I also like a playful approach to this work, which is evident in the future award winning piece "SALMON SALMON".
